Time to go Home...

The time had come, our two weeks of vacation were up and it was time to drive back home.  It was a fun and relaxing trip, we were all sad to say our goodbyes, especially the little ones.  Most of our drive we were in and out of thunderstorms.  I hate driving in storms, a lot has to do with my friend and I hydroplaning so that our car was facing on coming traffic until we slid into a median and got stuck in the mud.  Oh it was sooooo scary!  Ever since then, driving in the rain and even snow (another scary story involving skidding off the road and almost hitting a transformer box), I get a little nervous.  Good thing I let the hubby drive.  But eventually the sun came out for awhile, so we stopped for some lunch.  We've stopped at The Mercantile on Main before and it was pretty good, so we stopped again.  We were in luck, they had a German plate on special! YUM!

I took a few cute pictures of the kiddos before we headed back out on the road.

And what do you know...more thunderstorms!

Then again...the sun finally decided to show it self and stay out for the rest of the trip.
It was a smooth drive the rest of the way.

We were sad to be away from family again, but happy to be back home.
Our kitty sure did miss us and we sure did miss our own beds!

Spring Break....On the Road Again

Well, it was Saturday, which means we had to say our good-byes and get on the road to head back home.  We had such a great week visiting with family and friends, taking family pictures, going to the San Antonio Children's Museum, playing at Inflatable Wonderland, eating at our favorite Texas restaurants,  hot tubbing, and going to SeaWorld.  WOW! What a busy week we had...

Our first stop though, Chick-fil-a for some Chickin' Minis!

Our drive back home was pretty smooth, we stopped for gas, snacks, meals, and potty breaks.
We even got home pretty reasonable.
I unpacked a few things and then it was time to put the kiddos to bed.
We couldn't wait to

Spring Break.....Friday

We were up bright and early on Friday for our trip to SeaWorld!! Liam was so excited, and I have to admit, so was I!  I haven't been to SeaWorld is years!  Best part about it was that we got to go for FREE thanks to the Waves of Honor Program plus we got some 30% food and merchandise coupons!  It was a little overcast but the sun definitely came out to play with us a little later!

After a quick stop for some food, we headed to to the first show of the day... One Ocean with Shamu!  Those whales are so smart and awesome!  All of us enjoyed watching them perform their tricks, but I think Kinley was the most amazed!  She had a permanent smile the whole show.  It was so cute watching her light up when Shamu would jump or splash.

Look at all those whales!

After the show we walked, and walked, and walked, and walked around the park.

While my dad, sis, and hubby went on a few rides mom and I, shared a Funnel cake
with the kiddos and took them to see the Penguins and Puffins.

Then we headed to Sesame Street Bay of Play so Liam could go on a couple of rides too!
Kinley even rode the carousal, at first she liked it, but after the second rotation, she wanted OFF!
Oh well, maybe next time she will like it.

There was this HUGE cargo net, tunnels and water park just for the little kids.
Liam loved climbing all of it!

While waiting for the next showing of Azul, my sis and I
snuck away to get a little treat and coffee.

Waiting for the show to start, which means picture time!

The dolphins and beluga whales were really cool.
This show incorporated a lot of divers and acrobats.
Liam liked the high divers the best.

We love our boys!

After a fun day at SeaWorld, a quick nap in the car on the ride home,
then we had a pizza party in the hot tub!

Later that night, mom, the hubby, my brother, and I sat around the fire pit, enjoyed some wine for the ladies, beer for the fellas and roasted some marshmallows for some S'Mores.
It was the perfect ending to an awesome day!

We had a great visit with our family and friends but the next day we were going to head back home.

Spring Break....Thursday

Thursday after Kinley's nap we took the kiddos to Inflatable Wonderland.  It was a HUGE place with lots of bouncy inflatable jumpers, there was even an area just for the littles like Kinley.  They both had a great time!  A great way to get some energy out and some exercise.  On the way home both kiddos were exhausted  from all the jumping and fell asleep on the way back to MeeMaw's house.

That night we left the kiddos with MeeMaw and PapPaw so we could have a date night out with some friends.  We went to dinner at Minnie's Tavern & Rye House.  It was really good!

Proof we actually went out at a couple, no kids!

After dinner we headed back to our friends house for a night cap.  Erica made this amazing Vanilla Espresso Martini that was SO AWESOME!  It was another great day!

Spring Break....Monday

The next day was Tuesday, we didn't have much planned that day, except for me baking up some of my Margarita Cupcakes and later meeting up with the hubby's family for dinner.   So we just hung out most of the day, it was nice not having to take Liam to school, or go grocery shopping, or take kiddos to doctor appointments, we could just relax.

We hung out with some our really good friends (the kiddo's Godparents) before heading to eat with the In-Laws.  Liam liked wearing the Storm Trooper helmut.

We decided to go to Pappasitos, one of the hubby's favorite restaurants.  We usually have great service, but that night it was terrible.  We were so disappointed.  The service was extremely slow, the messed up the order, and they were out of green chili salsa.  The dinner started off great, Kinley and Liam colored but as the night continued they were so tired and ready to go home.  We were there for about 3 hours!

Liam even fell asleep on my lap during dinner he was so tired!

With all the mishaps at dinner it was still nice to be with family and make memories.

Spring Break.......Sunday

So we drove in on a Saturday and actually got there BEFORE the sun went down, a first for us!  We just unpacked, got the kiddos ready for bed, and hung out with my family a bit before we headed to bed ourselves.  The next day was family day.  My sister, her hubby, my nephew, and my in-laws came over for lunch and to do some family pictures.

Kinley loves playing with baby Camden, she wanted to sit next to him during lunch, it was so cute.  We ate some yummy lunch then headed outside so the kiddos could get some bottled up energy out from the long drive.

Having some fun outside at MeeMaw & PapPaw's house!

My mom and sister being silly eating the Chocolate Cake I baked up!

The kiddos with Nana & Papa

Even my friend Ina (who claims she doesn't like desserts) ate not one, but TWO pieces of my cake!

We eventually went out back and took some overdue family pictures.  My brother took the pictures while we swapped family members in and out.  Almost felt like we were posing for wedding pictures..haha.

It was a great day to be with family!

Spring Break....Saturday

Spring break has definitely changed since having kiddos. In high school and college it was a week of being with friends, going to the beach, volleyball tournaments, and just having some crazy fun!  But now that we have Liam and Kinley Spring Break has come to be something totally different.  This year was Liam's first official Spring Break, so we defiantly wanted to take advantage of the whole week he was off from school.....So, we packed up the car, loaded the kiddos, and drove to Texas to visit with family and friends.

After a quick stop at Starbucks for a Tall White Chocolate Nonfat for me, Grande Mocha for the hubby, and some breakfast sandwiches we were on our way.  It didn't take long for the kiddos to fall asleep.  So I took advantage of the quiet time and started reading my new book Divergent. (I actually finished the whole series,  DivergentInsurgent, and Allegiant in about a week and a half).

It was a pretty smooth, uneventful but long 9 hour drive!  With about an hour left to drive to my mom's house I put on the movie Frozen then snuck in the back to watch it with the kiddos.  We all love this movie.  I can't even tell you how many times we have watched it.  My son goes around singing the songs with me.  Once they get stuck in your head it's there the WHOLE day!

Almost there.....
