New Year's Eve

Confetti and poppers,
Firefighters and coppers,
A time to remember,
January through December.

Top hats and crowns,
Suits and shiny gowns,
Loud squeaky horns,
The New Year's born.

Champagne and streamers,
Partiers and dreamers,
Ole Am Zime,
The end to Father Time.

Singing and dancing,
Laughing and prancing,
Fireworks in the cold,
Resolutions that are told.

Hot wings and chips,
Veggies and dips,
The clock spins round,
Till the ball drops down.

Hugs and kisses,
To misters and misses,
A midnight celebration,
With much exhilaration.

Christmas Time

Eagerness and waiting,
Preparing and baking,
The Christmas cheer,
Comes once of year.

Ribbons and bows,
Cards and Christmas shows,
A dolly that pees,
Blue Spruce pine trees.

Santa and reindeers,
Games and teddy bears,
Blinking Christmas lights,
Winter starry nights.

Icicles and snowflakes,
Eggnog and fruitcakes,
Angels with wings,
The Three Wise Kings.

Parades and floats,
Control cars and boats,
Wrapping paper that's torn,
Lord Jesus is born.

Tinsel and toys,
Girls and boys,
Carolers that sing,
Bells that ring.

Wreaths and mistletoe,
Candy Canes and cookie dough,
Fires for toasting,
Chestnuts for roasting.

Boxes and bags,
Prices and tags,
Relatives stop by,
Christmas plum pie.

Happiness and fulfillment,
Sadness and disappointment,
The Christmas cheer,
Will come again next year.

Dear Mr. Santa,
I only have one wish,
Instead of toys or golden fish,
I'd rather have Mylanta.

I need some for my dad,
Cause he is awful sick,
TUMS helped, but didn't stick,
So now he's really mad.

You wonder what he did,
To give him so much pain,
So find a seat and remain,
And listen to the kid.

He ate a plate of jelly,
Which mom told him "No",
It's not to eat, but for show,
So he's gone upset his belly.

He tried to lay down,
He tried to stand tall,
He started to crawl,
But it made him just frown.

He's a big ball of gas,
Waiting to burst,
Farts of the worst,
For him to pass.

So please Mr. Santa,
Send a bottle or two,
To my Daddy Lou,
Living in Atlanta.

I love him so much,
It'll make me so happy,
To see a well pappy,
So thank you,
               Julie Bunch.

Holiday Performance

With Liam in school and it being the holiday season it's only natural to think his school would be putting on some sort of Christmas show.  Well, they did and Liam wanted nothing to do with the actual performance part.  First, we were a little late arriving so he didn't get to get comfortable with being on stage before they started. So the hubby stayed on stage with him, hiding behind a Christmas tree, all the while Liam just stood there.  He didn't even sing the songs we've been practicing everyday. I did get a few waves from him.  Oh well, I guess he just wasn't into it.....maybe next year.  However, once it was over we all headed to the auditorium for some drinks and snacks.  His mood totally changed when he got to have a few cookies.  Santa even made a special appearance with treats for the kids, a reindeer candy cane, a Hersey Kiss, and peppermint candy.

We all had a great time even if Liam didn't sing.  It was a great learning experience for him.  Will be looking  forward to the next performance with the video camera ready!
