July Crafternoon

For July's Crafternoon I hosted and planned on everyone getting their "wreck" on.  I recently discovered Wreck This Journal, it's such a fun way to bring out your creativity.  I got a journal for each of my guests, set out all kinds of crafting items, some traditional others not so much.

Gaby getting her "wreck" on!

My friend, Gaby, brought her mother-in-law Donna.
She had fun "wrecking" her journal too!

This is one of Donna's pages

Here are some of Gaby's

Gaby's hubby, Josh, even joined in the fun!

I got a little messy with my journal.
I used some paint and a fork to make these cool designs,
which turned out to look like fireworks.
Pretty fitting since it was a 4th of July themed Crafternoon!

Kinley wanted to do a little "wrecking" herself

So did Liam, he made an awesome hat

As far as the food went, I did a play on hot dogs.
I found some different yummy sausages,
then came up with some interesting toppings for each one.

This one was one of my favorites!

Pretty tasty!

Yum Yum!

This one was my second favorite!

I just had to taste them all!

As far as desserts go...I made these cute Cheeseburger Cupcakes
and Crinkle Cut Cake Fries with a side of Plum Jelly as ketchup.

It was a good day, full of creativity, great friends, yummy food, and lots of fun!

Wreck This Journal: Fruit Stamps

I know this page says to Make Prints using Ink and Cut Vegetables, but I decided I wanted to use fruit instead.  I think they turned out pretty neat.  I've never stamped using citrus before.  The lemon prints actually look like oranges because of the orange ink I used.  I liked how it turned out, fresh and bright!

Wreck This Journal: Wash, Rinse, Fold, Repeat

This page in my journal was pretty easy, it says to Tear This Page Out (put it in your pocket, put it through the wash, stick it back in).  So that's exactly what I did.  I was doing a load of Liam's clothes, so I tore my page out, folded it, and stuck it in one of his jeans pockets.  I hoped it didn't get too wet and wouldn't be able to place it back in my journal.  But as it turned out, the folding helped keep it together.  I carefully and slowly unfolded it and taped some of it back together.  Then taped it back into my journal.

Wreck This Journal: Grocery Lists

I am constantly going to the grocery store, and being a Virgo that I am, I'm never empty handed.  I need my lists, they are on back of envelopes, Post-It Notes, and even in my phone.  I saved a few to put in my journal for this page, A Place for your Grocery Lists.  I added some of the store ads and coupons, because I do price matching and coupon cutting too!

Wreck This Journal: Tongue Painting

This page for Tongue Painting, was actually quite fun and yummy!  I found these Angry Bird Exploding Candy, kinda like Pop Rocks, at the Dollar Tree.  They were tasty and in different colors.  So I popped some in my mouth and yep, I LICKED the page! I didn't painting with my tongue could be so fun!

Wreck This Journal: Hairball

For this page I was to Create a Drawing Using a Piece (or several pieces) of Your Hair.  Ok, so grabbed some from my brush wadded it up into a ball and thought.  How can I create a page incorporating this hairball? Hairball...hairball...hairball....I got it! A CAT!  So there ya go!

Wreck This Journal: What's Your Name?

If you were to browse through a Wreck This Journal, you would think the Name Page would be one of the first to complete.  But, naw, I didn't finish these pages for awhile.

I followed all the prompts on how to write my name and then
doodled around the edges and on the left page.

Wreck This Journal: Stickiness

Draw with Glue?!  What a fun page!  I found some sparkly glitter glue and drew some hearts on the right page, then folded the left side over.  Then peeled if apart to find some pretty mirrored hearts.  Then I just colored the insides with markers.  Simple but fun, I mean, who doesn't like playing with glitter glue?

Wreck This Journal: Stain It

If you know me, I have A LOT, I mean A LOT of nail polish colors, this is only one of three bags of nail polish I have!  Crazy, right?!  Well, I like to paint my nails fun funky colors.  So when I saw the journal entry for Stain Log, I thought it would be fun to paint some polish in the boxes.  But of course I had to draw more boxes to accommodate all the polish I have.

I painted the left page with sparkly glittery polish
and the right side has the shiny and matte polishes.
Some of the ones on the right even smell.  Have you seen those?
The scented nail polish by Revlon.  They've made my journal smell so good.

Wreck This Journal: Taped Up

Aren't those some pretty colors of tape?  I've never seen paper tape, so I added them to my basket while shopping at Target.  I knew they would come in handy for one of these pages.  And it so happened they did with this Cover This Page in Tape journal entry.

I weaved the paper tape into a basket pattern.
It was really easy to use and reposition-able, unlike real tape.
