Teacher's Valentine's Day Gifts

I am so excited this year will be Liam's first school Valentine's Day party.  I've already made his classmate's valentines, but I wanted to do something special for his teachers as well.  So of course, I searched on Pinterest to get some fun ideas and here's what I came up with....

Supplies

Bottle of Hand Soap
Card stock
Scissors
Ribbon
"I was Soapin' you'd be my Valentine" printed paper
Paper square adhesives
Stickers
Marker
Paper cutter
Hole Puncher

Instructions

Using your computer, print out
"I was Soapin' you'd be my Valentine"
Use the paper cutter to cut a rectangle around the words.
Then use some fun scissors to cut around the edges of the rectangle.

Using the paper adhesive squares,
stick the printed paper onto a piece of card stock.
Next using the paper cutter again, cut another rectangle
around the printed paper leaving enough room
to cut the edges with the fun scissors.

Punch a hole at the top left corner of the card stock.
Use the fun scissors to cut the edges of the card stock.

I had Liam sign his name, so the teachers know it was from him.

Decorate the card tag with stickers then
thread a piece of ribbon through the hole,
around the pump of the hand soap
and tie a knot or a bow.

That's it!  A cute Valentine's gift for any teacher or friend.

Stamping Some Hearts

I found this really cute idea of using paper towel tubes as stamps on Pinterest.  It was really easy and an inexpensive fun craft to make some Valentine's Day cards for family and friends.

Supplies

Paint
Paper plates
Paper towel tube
Card stock
Scissors
Markers

Instructions

Cut paper towel tubes into smaller tubes.
Fold one side of tube inward to form a heart shape.
Pour some paint onto the plate, then dip one end of the
heart tube into the paint then stamp on the card stock.

Lift up tube slowly, repeat a few times with different color paints.

Using fun bladed scissors cut around the edges of the card stock.
The using the markers write "Happy Valentine's Day".

So easy we made A LOT!

I think everyone is going to LOVE these!

Valentine's Crayons

If you are on Pinterest, you have probably seen these posted everywhere.  With it being Valentine's soon I thought I would give them a try.  Mine turned out so cute and they were really easy to make!

Supplies

Crayons
Heart shaped silicone mold
Knife
Cutting board

Either using new or broken used crayons,
take off all the paper wrapping.

Then either break or using a knife,
chop into small pieces on the cutting board.

Fill each heart with the crayon pieces.
You can do it multicolor or all the same colors.

Preheat your oven to 230 degrees, Place the silicone
hearts on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes,
until the crayons have melted.

Take them out of the oven to cool completely so they will harden.

After they have hardened, carefully pop them out of the mold.

Now you are ready to color or package up as Valentine's gifts.

Valentine's Day Cards

Liam's first Valentine's Day party for school is coming up, so I went on Pinterest, one of favorite websites, to look up some ideas for Valentine's cards.  At first, I was just going to buy some at Target, but then decided making them would be more fun and special.  Here's what I created...

Supplies

Colored Card stock
Printer Paper
Computer
Paper cutter
Dollar Store Heart Maze Games
Corner cutters
Adhesive stickers
Glue Dots

Directions

Using the computer, print out:

"You are an
A-MAZE-ing
friend"
"Happy Valentine's Day"

Using the paper cutter, cut the printed paper into a square.
Then cut the corners using a fancy corner cutter.

Stick the printed paper using the adhesive stickers onto a piece of colorful card stock.
Using the paper cutter again, cut another square, leaving some space.
Then cut the corners of the card stock with a corner rounder cutter.

Attached a glue dot on the back of one of the maze toys.
Then stick the maze in the middle of the Valentine.
I also had Liam sign the bottom, so his friends know it's from him.

A basket full of Valentine's!

For Dessert:

Valentine's Day Tie Shirt

Since Kinley has been born I have been taking holiday pictures of my cute kiddos, Liam in a holiday tie shirt and Kinley in a cute holiday tutu.  So with Valentine's Day coming up I thought I better make Liam's shirt.  It's so easy..

Supplies

T-shirt (pre-washed)
Fabric
Scissors
Paper
Marker
Double Sided Iron On Adhesive
Iron

Directions

Draw a tie pattern on a piece of paper with the marker then cut it out to use as your pattern.
Trace the tie pattern on the back side of your chosen fabric then cut it out.

Peel back one side of the Double Sided Adhesive and stick the fabric tie cut out,
design side up, onto the sticky side.
Cut around the fabric tie.
Then peel off the other paper side and place on the t-shirt straight underneath the collar.
Using a heated iron, iron on the tie.

Once it's ironed on, let cool and it's ready to wear for your Valentine's Day celebration!
