Road Trip

The day had finally come for my mom, the kiddos, and I to drive to Texas for my sister's baby shower, Kinley's baptism, and for a mini vacation with family and friends.  Mom and I took turns driving, it was a lot of fun road tripping together.  Here's some of the pictures from our trip!

What-a-Burger the Breakfast of champions...Not, but it was still yummy!

(Kinley liked her bananas and oatmeal)

We got the GPS set, a LONG way to go....

Everyone ready!

One of the fun surprises in Liam's Traveling Bags

We stopped in Fort Stockton for some Sonic for lunch

Fast food round 2...

(Kinley had some sweet potatoes, can you tell?)

Rain delay, we drove right into a big thunderstorm

Liam making music with the kazoos and

coloring with his new glitter & metallic crayons

Peek-a-boo Kinley

Still on the road...enjoying some snacks and watching Transformers Prime

Pit stop, everyone out to stretch your legs and snacks for Kinley

Mommy Love

My babies

Liam and I playing some Freeze Tag

Playing Red Light, Green Light with MeeMaw

Almost there, stopped for some dinner at McD's

Topping off our fast food trip...

(Kinley munched on some green beans, pears, and peas)

Back in the car I surprised Liam with some glow glasses & rings!

We finally got home around 11:30pm.

Not bad for traveling with a 5 year old and 8 month old, they both did great!

Looking forward to spending time with our family and friends.

Traveling Bags

I got this great idea from my friend Tori from Lil' Mrs. Tori about putting together some goodie bags filled with little treats and activities to surprise my son throughout our road trip to Texas.  Whenever he started getting bored or whiny I gave him one of these bags to keep him occupied.

I found all kinds of things to put in the bags:

Glittery and metallic crayons

Star Wars Angry Bird note pad

Kazoos

Mustache & nose glasses

Whoopee cushions

Glow in the dark bugs

Glow Glasses & rings

Transformer

Fruit Snacks

Nilla Wafers

Annie's Cheese Mix

Apple Cinnamon Sandwich snacks

Cereal Snacks

Yogurt & strawberry snacks

Yogurt pretzels

Fruit by the Foot

Chips Ahoy Cookies

Chocolate BeVita wafers

I just paired a few snacks and a couple surprises together and put them in a paper bag.

Roll down the top of the bags and seal with a staple.

Something quick to make and fun for the kiddo to open.

Here's some of the fun we had on our trip thanks to the Traveling Bags!

Liam loved all the treats and the bags definitely made the trip go by faster.
