Love Poems

Since this is February, the month of LOVE, my blogger friends and I linked up to bring you some poems about love.  Click on the links below to check out some more poetry.

Hazel

Inhale the sweet vanilla
from her loving embrace.
Hear her laughter,
Touch the groves in her aging face.

Her hair a bit thinned
and ginger blends to gray.
A smile so infectious,
it brightens your day.

Eyes hazel full of wisdom,
with lovely lashes up they flip.
Freckles tickled by kisses,
stamped by her coral stained lip.

Her majestic fingers wrap,
around my little hands.
Wanting her to hold them forever,
but God had other plans.

A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandma,
Five ladies rolled into one.
An amazing accomplished woman,
full of zest, of wit, and of fun.

I think of her often
and miss her in every way.
Especially on February second......her birthday.

In loving memory of my Grandmother
 Hazel Irene Conley

Let Love In

Cupid's arrows take aim,
targets the lonely souls.
Ones that lack love
with a heart full of holes.

Why do we love
when love can be broken?
Our hearts kicked around,
hurtful words spoken.

Open your heart,
give love a chance.
You are worth the fight,
you deserve the romance.

Love takes time
it can't be rushed.
The true tackles you over,
 cheeks slightly blushed.

A stomach full of butterflies
a smile across your face.
Longing for their touch,
missing their embrace.

Feel yourself blessed
if you find the "one",
To share your love
till your life journey is done.

Homemade Valentines

Valentine's Day is coming up and Liam's class is celebrating it a few days early.  They don't have school on Friday, so their Valentine's Day party is this Thursday.  Some of classmates have food allergies and restrictions, there's even a diabetic, so I wanted to make something each student could enjoy.  I also made some valentines for his teachers, the administrators, and some of the volunteers that help out at the school.
I had a lot of fun designing these cute Valentines on PicMonkey then had them printed at Office Max.  I can't wait for Liam to give them out.

These are for his Teachers...

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

A Day Full of Love

Happy Valentine's Day...well a week or so late!  Hope you and your sweetie enjoyed the holiday as much as we did.  We kicked off our day of love with these yummy Heart Pancakes, Heart Strawberries, and Conversation Hearts for breakfast!

Here is Liam's Valentine's Day Gift

He was excited to open it!

Loved his Sponge Bob card too!

Kinley was excited watching Liam open his gifts!

Kinley had some of her own (I ate the chocolate though)

Kinley like all her gifts too

I love her little fox card

After everyone got dressed, I set up an impromptu
photo shoot of My Little Valentines

I made Liam a fun heart filled lunch too!

While Kinley was napping, Liam and I colored his window clings

And he stuck them on!

LOVE the foxes!

What big lips you have Kinley!
The better to kiss you with momma!

When the hubby got home, he presented me with these beautiful pink roses!

We dined on some Surf & Turf for dinner with a
Spinach Asparagus Salad, and
Heart Shaped Roasted Potatoes.

For dessert we enjoyed Raspberry Clafoutis

...and some chocolates!

It was another great Valentine's Day!

I LOVE Yarn Letters

I've seen these adorable yarn letters on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try myself.  So I went to Hobby Lobby to get my supplies.

What you need:

Paper Mache letters
yarn
tape

How to make them:

Tape one end of the yarn to the back side of one of the letters.

Then start wrapping the yarn around the letter, keeping it tight and close to the each strand.
Continue doing until the entire letter is wrapped.
Around the corners, it gets a little tough, so just cut the yarn tape it to the letter, then start a new strand by taping it on the letter and start wrapping the letter again.

Here's how mine turned out!
