April Showers brings May Flowers

Since it is April, National Poetry Month, my blogger friends and I linked up to create some poems about, well poems.  Click on the links below to check out some other words of rhyme and rhythm.

Month to Month

If April showers bring May flowers,
then June skies must bring July flies.
If August heat brings September wheat,
then October cold must bring November mold.
If December flakes bring January lakes,
then February chills must bring March daffodils.

Poets

Dickinson, Frost, Whitman, and Poe,
These are some of the poets you may know.
Byrons, Eliot, Browning, and Shakespeare too,
All amazing writers through and through.

Lucky Poems

Since this is March, the month of wearing green, chasing after rainbows, digging up gold, and believing in Leprechauns, my blogger friends and I linked up to bring you some poems about LUCK.  Click on the links below to check out some more poetry.

Four Leaf Clover

One leaf for Hope, a desire of expectation.
One leaf for Faith, a belief of salvation.
One leaf for Love, a feeling of affection.
One leaf for Luck, a chance of gratification.

Lucky Trinkets

A penny in your pocket
a piggy as a locket.
A horse shoe above your door
a laughing Buddha on the floor.
A wishing well in your yard
a dragon standing guard.
A dream catcher to help you sleep
a cricket that likes to leap.
A lady bug upon your hand
an alligator tooth found in the sand.
An acorn fallen from a tree
an rusty ancient Roman key.
A rabbit's foot on a chain
a garden lion with a mane.
A bamboo stalk growing tall
a beautiful Kachina doll.
An evil eye protecting you
a four leaf clover by your shoe.
A three legged toad made of gold
a Scrab Beetle Egyptian old.
An elephant fit for a king
a Cat's Eye stone set in a ring.
So many trinkets to bring you luck,
But you still didn't win the lottery.... #@%&$!

Here's an Irish Blessing just for you...
May your pockets be heavy,
Your heart be light.
May good luck pursue you each
morning and night.

Love Poems

Since this is February, the month of LOVE, my blogger friends and I linked up to bring you some poems about love.  Click on the links below to check out some more poetry.

Hazel

Inhale the sweet vanilla
from her loving embrace.
Hear her laughter,
Touch the groves in her aging face.

Her hair a bit thinned
and ginger blends to gray.
A smile so infectious,
it brightens your day.

Eyes hazel full of wisdom,
with lovely lashes up they flip.
Freckles tickled by kisses,
stamped by her coral stained lip.

Her majestic fingers wrap,
around my little hands.
Wanting her to hold them forever,
but God had other plans.

A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandma,
Five ladies rolled into one.
An amazing accomplished woman,
full of zest, of wit, and of fun.

I think of her often
and miss her in every way.
Especially on February second......her birthday.

In loving memory of my Grandmother

Let Love In

Cupid's arrows take aim,
targets the lonely souls.
Ones that lack love
with a heart full of holes.

Why do we love
when love can be broken?
Our hearts kicked around,
hurtful words spoken.

Open your heart,
give love a chance.
You are worth the fight,
you deserve the romance.

Love takes time
it can't be rushed.
The true tackles you over,
 cheeks slightly blushed.

A stomach full of butterflies
a smile across your face.
Longing for their touch,
missing their embrace.

Feel yourself blessed
if you find the "one",
To share your love
till your life journey is done.

Spell It Out

O - is for Open, let your heart skip a beat.
V -  is for Valentine, from your one true love,
