July Crafternoon

For July's Crafternoon I hosted and planned on everyone getting their "wreck" on.  I recently discovered Wreck This Journal, it's such a fun way to bring out your creativity.  I got a journal for each of my guests, set out all kinds of crafting items, some traditional others not so much.

Gaby getting her "wreck" on!

My friend, Gaby, brought her mother-in-law Donna.
She had fun "wrecking" her journal too!

This is one of Donna's pages

Here are some of Gaby's

Gaby's hubby, Josh, even joined in the fun!

I got a little messy with my journal.
I used some paint and a fork to make these cool designs,
which turned out to look like fireworks.
Pretty fitting since it was a 4th of July themed Crafternoon!

Kinley wanted to do a little "wrecking" herself

So did Liam, he made an awesome hat

As far as the food went, I did a play on hot dogs.
I found some different yummy sausages,
then came up with some interesting toppings for each one.

This one was one of my favorites!

Pretty tasty!

Yum Yum!

This one was my second favorite!

I just had to taste them all!

As far as desserts go...I made these cute Cheeseburger Cupcakes
and Crinkle Cut Cake Fries with a side of Plum Jelly as ketchup.

It was a good day, full of creativity, great friends, yummy food, and lots of fun!

June Crafternoon

Last month Elizabeth hosted our June Crafternoon.  For this craft we didn't sew anything or repurposed an old item, this time we painted!  I love to paint.  It's such a fun way to express yourself and I find it very relaxing.  Recently, I've seen these Painting Party businesses popping up EVERYWHERE!  The first one I heard of was actually my bestie's business called the Traveling-Tipsi Artist.  She started this because she loves to paint, teach, and host parties, so what a fun way to do all three!  I actually did a post about her and her business...check it out, My Friend the Traveling-Tipsi Artist.  Well, June's Crafternoon was very similar.  We each brought some yummy cheese/wine trays, some blank canvas, and our creativity.

Look at all that yumminess on one platter!

More CHHHHEEEESSSSEEEEEE!

About to get our paint on!
Blank canvas' turn into.....masterpieces!

Creating their artwork...

Looking good ladies!

Even the kiddos wanted to paint too!

I decided I didn't want to do the same painting the other ladies were doing,
so I found a picture of a fox then sketched it out on my canvas.

Then painted my picture.

Here's Elizabeth and Jennies beautiful Cherry Blossoms.

And Marissa's too!
I think my fox turned out pretty cute!

Can't wait to hang it in Kinley's room with the rest of her fox paintings!

This month's Crafternoon's was one of my favorites!
Can't wait till July's, I will be hosting it!

May Crafternoon

Recently we had our May Crafternoon, Jennie was our host last month.  Since she will be moving soon, she wanted to host one last time.  May's Crafternoon was a day of practicing our sewing skills.
Everyone brought extra material and sewing machines so we could make the Reusable Gift bags from our January Crafternoon and the Yo-Yo Flowers from our April Crafternoon.  I couldn't stay long, so I just visited with everyone while they crafted.  It was nice to just chit chat with my friends and enjoy some great snacks.

Here's some of the yummy foods we snacked on.  Jennie made this beautiful Spiked Watermelon Fresca Cocktail (I didn't try it though, I'm not a big fan of watermelons).  But I was a fan of the oh so delicious pasta veggie salad, fruit kabobs, carrots and Tempeh with Peanut Sauce.

Another great Crafternoon!  It's going to be so sad
when Jennie leaves in July, but at least we get to have one
more before she hits the road with her family to Florida.

April Crafternoon

I know this is really late, but I still wanted to post our fun April Crafternoon!  We met over at Marissa's house to make some Yo-Yo Flowers.  I have never made these before but have seen them on some of Kinley's headbands.  We all brought over some material and got our Yo-Yo making on!

Marissa had these plastic Yo-Yo maker templates we used.
They were pretty easy!

Getting our craft on!

I made a small and a large Yo-Yo flower.

Then took a break for some snacks,
Elizabeth brought some yummy Cheese Stuffed Tomatoes
Marissa's hubby smoked some Salmon and baked up some bread.
I made some Strawberry Shortcakes for dessert.

I tried my hand at making the this flower, turned out alright.

Here's all the ones I made! So pretty!

Jenny sewed hers onto a cute headband and added some buttons.  Adorable!

It was a lot of fun!
Can't wait for May's Crafternoon at Jenny's house!

March Crafternoon

It's another month and you know what that means......Time for us ladies to get together and craft at our monthly Crafternoon!  This month my friend Elizabeth hosted and she found some fun for all of us to do!

Since, Margarita Day had just passed we wanted to celebrate it!
She made a yummy spread of chips & salsas,
avocado ranch with veggies,
some Skinny Girl Pomegranate Margaritas,
and I brought some Margarita Cupcakes!

For this month's craft, she found these cute Origami making kits.
I have never done Origami, so I was really excited!

Here's the first one I attempted, The Horse!
It took me awhile, since it was a "medium" difficulty, which I didn't notice at the time....
guess I should have started with an easy instead. Oh well.

Here's one of the easy ones, The Pig.

Then I tried another hard one, The Owl.
This one was my favorite!

The kits came with all the papers, instructions, and these cute backgrounds for picture taking.
So here's my Origami Farm...

My friend Marisa did these undersea creatures!

Elizabeth folded up the Whale and I did the Flounder...

Here's the other two I did, The Love Bird and my Owl.

This was a simple yet very fun craft!
Looking forward to see what is in store next month at Marisa's house!
