Friday Foodie Favorites: Pepperidge Farm Gingerbread Swirl Bread

I know it's still November, but I couldn't resist picking this up, Pepperidge Farm Gingerbread Swirl Bread.  I've never seen this before so thought I would give it a try!  If you like gingerbread, you will love this!  It's not too gingery, just enough.  I toasted a couple of slices and smeared on some butter, it was delightful!

The other day, I made it to some wonderful French Toast!
I dusted it with a little powdered sugar then drizzled
on some homemade vanilla icing.

SOOOOO GOOD!

If you have some in your grocery store, I would try it out!
I bet it would be perfect as a Gingerbread bread pudding for Christmas!

If you like Gingerbread...try these out too!

Whoo-hoo! No Cavities!

Since moving here, we haven't been to the dentist.  So I finally did some scouting around the city and found a great one my friend recommended,  Jared Wallis DDS!  He was super nice and Liam wasn't afraid at all!  Such a big difference then the very first visit!  Looking forward to my check up this week!

Getting his teeth checked!
Whoo-hoo! No cavities!

Kinley was a little jealous of Liam sitting in the BIG chair,
so she climbed up for her check up too!
Hope she likes going to the dentist as much as I do!

After his check up we scheduled his cleaning appointment,
hope it goes just as well!

Just say Cheese

The other day, the Mountain View Market Co-Op was hosting a Cheese tasting, so Liam and I plus some friends and their boys decided to check it out!  We love cheese!

Some of the cheeses we tried...

They had a little card to fill out with ones you like the best.
Liam scored his with smiley faces :o)
He like the British Cheddar and the Molisana Salame the Best!

Look at all that cheese! YUM!

He DID NOT like the Fromager D'Affinois.
Silly boy making faces.

Afterward we took the boys to Burger King to have fun in
the play area since it was a very chilly day.
It was a great little day with my little man, while daddy watched little miss.

Thanksgiving Cornucopia Snacks

Since Liam's class didn't plan on hosting a Thanksgiving day at his school, I thought I would bring a snack for him to share with his class.  I found these cute Thanksgiving Cornucopias that I wanted to make and bring.  They were super easy and turned out adorable!

Here's what you need:

Waffle Cones
Chex Mix
Mini M&M's
Sandwich Bags
Bread Ties
Ribbon

First, I made a little mixture of Chex Mix and Mini M&M's.
Then put them into little sandwich bags and tied them with a bread tie.

Next, I filled a small bowl with water.
Dip the end of the waffle cone into the water about 1 inch deep for a few seconds.
Then I sprinkled a few drops of water inside the bottom of the cone.
Then microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds.
As soon as it's done, wrap the end of the cone around a pencil and hold for a few seconds
until it holds it shape.

Then carefully put the filled sandwich baggie into the curled waffle cone.
To make it pretty, tie a festive ribbon around the cone.

That's it! All done!
A fun festive Thanksgiving snack!
ENJOY!

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow

Sunday, we woke up to a beautiful sight....it has snowed!  I know it's snowed here before, it did around Christmas time last year, so I was so excited that it has snowed while we were here to enjoy it.  After breakfast we go all bundled up and went outside to play.

My poor Honda, it got covered...guess we need to invest in a ice/snow scraper.

At first, Kinley liked the snow,

All smiles until....

...that was until her socks (she doesn't have any mittens/gloves,
so I put socks on her hands) got all wet from the snow!
I had to change them 3 times because she kept sticking her hands
back in the snow...silly girl!

Liam on the other hand, loved the snow!  So glad his winter gear
still fit from last year! He was set!

He tried making snowballs to throw at me.

My little Snow Angry Bird and Snowy Kitty

After a little playing in the snow,  I bundled the kiddos up
in the double stroller and we went for a walk in the winter wonderland.

Nature looks so pretty when covered in snow.

Our little tree/shrub in the backyard.

We had a great time outside, hoping it snows again!

Friday Foodie Favorites: Microwave Farmer's Popcorn Cob

With it being the autumn season I thought I would get a little festive with some old fashion popcorn!  I found this at one of our stores, kind of like Trader Joe's.

Just put the cob in the bag...

put bag in the microwave for 2 minutes on HIGH...

Sprinkle on some salt, or some Cheddar Cheese popcorn seasoning like Liam,
then ENJOY!

Hunger Games & Catching Fire Marathon

So anyone else as hyped as I am about the recent release of the Catching Fire??? My friend told me about The Hunger Games and Catching Fire marathon one of the theaters was hosting, so we had to get our tickets early!  Thanks goodness we did, because they sold out in 2 days!!

Got my ticket!!

We decided to meet up early, a whole hour early, 5:30pm!
And the first movie didn't even start till 6:30pm!
We definitely sported our Katniss inspired outfits!

Because of it being a special showing, they gave us a wristband,

and a cool laniard!

It goes perfectly with my Mocking Jay necklace, don't ya think?

During the intermission, a couple of movie promoters came out
and asked us some Catching Fire trivia!
It was a perfect time to hit up the bathroom and refill our popcorn bag!

Next up......Catching Fire!
I thought it was great! Can't wait to see it again!

The Hunger Games Movie Nite

So.....I know I already went to a Hunger Games party this past weekend, but that didn't stop me from inviting some other friends over (who one has not see the movie) to watch The Hunger Games.  And of course I had to have a few munchies, cocktails, and party gifts.  Everything turned out amazing, and it was great watching the movie again!
I came up with a Girl on Fire Cocktail

And of course....dessert!

Yum yum!

I found these awesome Mocking Jay
bracelets on Etsy from Luck Jane

I wrapped them up in silver tissue paper then put them into a
little silver bag,  sewed some tissue paper onto the bag
to make it look like a parachute.
(If you've seen the movie you will know what I was aiming for)

Happy Hunger Games
......and may the odds be ever in your favor.
